Dambulla
Dambulla is another UNESCO World Heritage Site located in the Central Province of Sri Lanka. It is known for the Dambulla Cave Temple, also referred to as the Golden Temple of Dambulla. This temple complex is situated in a series of five caves on a massive rock outcrop.
Dambulla is approximately 148 kilometers (92 miles) east of Colombo. The site features intricate cave paintings and over 150 statues of Buddha, making it a significant pilgrimage site for Buddhists.
